What is Jumbo Glass?
Standard glass is generally <60 sq. ft. (long leg <144”, short leg <88”) due to size limitations on coatings, tempering ovens, handling equipment and freight capabilities.
Energy efficient “JUMBO” insulating glass panels available from specialty manufacturers only - with and without low e coatings in various large format categories:
Standard European - 236” x 126”
Standard USA Jumbo - 204” x 130”
Long European = 276” x 126”
Long USA Jumbo - 240” x 130”
Super Jumbo - 300” x 130”
Available with either low iron or clear glass lites ranging in thickness up to 12mm.
Requires jumbo tempering ovens, special handling equipment transportation logistics and installation equipment.
Heat soak testing available to mitigate spontaneous breakage due to Nickel Sulphide inclusion. Cheap insurance for very expensive glass!
